Women of Utopia features the work of Aboriginal women who live on Utopia Station near Alice Springs. The women produce beautiful batik, which they sell to shops, galleries and museums throughout the world – some of which is held in the National Gallery in Canberra. One of the featured artists is Emily Kame Kngwarreye, who has received much recognition and many accolades since the program was produced. The film also provides an insight into the lives of tribal Aboriginal women.
