Wild Australasia

Australia is like no other continent on Earth. Isolated from the rest of the world for a staggering 45 million years, this enormous island contains a breathtaking array of distinctive and bizarre species. From the tropical jungle to the vast shallow coral reefs, from burning deserts to snowy mountains, this series reveals how the continent became a land of unique landscapes and wildlife.

This is a world apart – a parched sunburnt country, the flattest and driest inhabited continent on Earth – and yet it has spawned a range of lush islands each with wildlife stranger than the next.
