Phoenix - Series Two

Phoenix is the hard-edged and gritty drama that forever changed the face of the Australian detective genre. With progressive filming techniques such as the use of hand-held camera, coupled with extensive background research into the subject, it was lauded as one of the most realistic depictions of crime investigation.

In the second series of Phoenix, the financial climate is bleak and recession is starting to bite deep. There's a rising tide of more violent crimes, amongst them, hard-hitting raids on the homes of new soft targets – the very old and the very rich. The public feels increasingly at risk and demand tougher action.

The squad are once again struggling to out-manoeuvre unknown perpetrators, amidst a sea of conflicting political pressure.
