Noah & Saskia was produced by the Australian Children's Television Foundation (ACTF) in 2005 and was broadcast on ABC TV. An entertaining comedy drama series for the twenty-first century teenager which confronts the experiences, problems and potential of the Internet for today's young people, who are facing issues of identity and pressures to conform to unrealistic media images. Saskia, a 14-year-old budding musician living in Australia and Noah, a 14-year-old computer geek living in London, change each other's lives from half a world away. They meet online in Webweave, an Internet chat room, and using constructed personas, collaborate in Noah's online comic.

The series and the extensive teaching resources focus on young people's fascination with the Internet and ethics and values associated with being online. Noah & Saskia presents opportunities to teach media literacy and to explore the interrelated themes of character development and identity construction; relationship development and sustainability; the construction and de-construction of various texts; and the impact of ever-emerging ICCT (information, communication and creative technologies) on communication. Recommended by all state and territory DET English curriculum departments and the Australian Association for the Teaching of English (AATE). DET Victoria, QLD and Tasmania web sites have Noah & Saskia resources available to teachers that are written for the English syllabus.

The series is supported by free resources, which can be found at the ACTF online Learning Centre at http://www.actf.com.au.
