Like the first series of Dogstar, series 2 is an animated comedy series for children consisting of twenty-six 24-minute episodes. In each series the story revolves around an amazing quest across space to find a missing ark full of dogs: the Dogstar.

The story

It is 2348, a year after the heroic crew of the Valiant, Glenn, Simone, Lincoln, Gemma and Gran located the missing Dogstar and returned its precious cargo of all the world's dogs back to Earth. But dog-like aliens, known as Canoids, have been spying on Earth. They don't like what they see. To them, the dogs appear to be fellow Canoids yet they are walking on all fours, frequently on the end of a leash and – most degrading of all – naked.

Canoids are not familiar with the idea of human evolution. To them humans are nothing but 'chattering monkeys' who delight in mistreating their Canoid slaves by making them chase after sticks and fetch slippers. The Canoids, aboard their ship the Beagle, decide to liberate the 'slaves'.

After putting the chattering monkeys into a brief sleep, the Canoids lure every dog on Earth into the Dogstar, then depart. Almost immediately, however, an accident occurs and the Dogstar is lost in space again, with the inept robots Zeke and Alice at the helm.

Our heroes are once again determined to find the Dogstar and their beloved dog Hobart. But it'll be harder this time. Not only is the evil genius Bob Santino on their tail again (he's rebuilt his Robog empire, and the last thing he wants is for the real dogs to be returned to Earth), but the Canoids badly want the Dogstar – and they're just as dangerous a foe as Santino.

Then there are all those strange planets out there, with aliens who don't always understand that our heroes are meant to be the good guys. In searching for the Dogstar, Glenn, Simone, Lincoln, Gemma and Gran will be tested to the limit. There will be adventure, thrills, aliens shaped like hotdogs, and the very real threat that planet Earth may be destroyed – not once, but with alarming regularity.
