Inside Texts, a new teacher resource from VATE, has been developed to support the teaching of the new Unit 4 Area of Study 1: Reading and comparing texts in the VCE English Study Design 2017-2020. This Inside Texts study guide has been written by Faye Crossman, a highly experienced VCE English educator and contents include: introductory notes, activities, text features, genre, structure and language, characters and events, ideas, issues and themes, setting, activities, making meaningful connections, historical and social context, comparison of features, key passages for close study, key quotes; comparing activities, comparing through listening and speaking activities, comparing through writing activities, planning a comparative response, comparative essay topics.
