Walkabout: Simply a Road Movie? (Film As Text)

Garry Gillard looks at 'Walkabout' (Nicholas Roeg, 1971) through the lens of the road movie genre, identifying an escape, a quest, travelling companions and a route to traverse. He sees the film also as a coming-of-age story for both of the main characters, although he also maintains that it is not without some serious flaws.
