Sub-Genres - A Journey Through the Movies' Side Streets and By-Ways

An exploration of three 'remarkable' cinema sub-genres: the cinema of science fiction, which Krausz traces back to 1896; the cinema of isolation, looking at films which show the effects of isolation and captivity, such as prisoner of war films, mental institution films and prison films; and politics and the cinema, which looks at films that have attempted to present political points of view or act as polemics for a variety of causes.
