• Peace campaigner Vida Goldstein
• War supporter Eva Hughes
• Radical socialist Tom Barker

The series follows these six characters through their stories as told in their vivid and evocative personal testimonies – revealed in letters, diaries, speeches and newspaper articles written in the heat of the moment as the events of the war unfold at home and on the front line.
